Accessibility at the Melbourne Cat Lovers Festival

The Cat Lovers Festival is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all attendees of the festival.

The venue offers a range of features to ensure comfort and convenience for visitors with diverse needs.

GETTING TO & around THE FESTIVAL

The Cat Lovers Festival has worked closley with PTV and the Melbourne Showgrounds to ensure the best transport options are avaliable to attend the Festival.

A direct train service and additional trams will make your journey easy, please we have ensured barrier free pathways from the stops into the venue.

Accessible Parking
There are accessible parking spaces and drop-off points close to the main entrances, ensuring easy access to the festival grounds.
  • Accessible Parking: Access via Gate 5
  • Accessible drop off point: Drop off at Gate 1 / Showgrounds Village Shopping Centre.

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The Showgrounds is well-serviced by public transport, including trams, buses, and trains, with accessible pathways leading into the venue.

Note: Stop 33 is no longer in use. Extra trams will run during the festival—details are on the PTV website.

WHEELCHAIRs

Wheelchairs are welcome at the Festival, however please note that we do not have any available for hire or loan on site.

If you require a wheelchair, please ensure you bring your own.

Barrier-Free Pathways
We have worked hard to develop clear and accessible routes throughout the venue, connecting parking areas, entrances, and all festival zones.
ACCESSIBLE TOILETS

Accessible toilets can be found within the Royal Block next to the main Café and at the entry of the Exhibition Building near Gate 1.

Accessible toilets located near the  Pie in the Sky are only available for Changing Places keyholders. Click here for more information on Changing Places

WHEELCHAIR Access

Most areas of the venue are accessible by ramps and lifts, and wheelchair-friendly toilets are located throughout the venue.

Please note that come activations on the Main Arena will have limited accessibility.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
Assistance Animals
Assistance animals and other registered assistance animals are welcome at the festival. Provisions, such as water stations, will be available to ensure their comfort.
Trained Staff

Event staff are trained to assist visitors with accessibility needs. If you require any assistance during the festival, please approach our friendly team members.
