The Norwegian Forest cat \u2018Norse Skogkatt\u2019 is the official cat of Norway 1934.
\nFirst thought to be from Scandinavian forests the \u2018Wegie\u2019 as they are commonly called, likely travelled on the Viking ships to many parts of Northern Europe.
\nThis calm and gentle breed is very intelligent making them adaptable and a perfect pet for families. Their coats are thick double layer with the outer coat being water resistant. Tufts between their toes, a thick bushy tail and maine are a striking sight in a full winter coat. Relatively easy to maintain coat with regular brushing, particularly in winter.
\nThe inverted wedge shape of their head and straight side profile nose are also what sets them apart from other forest cats. They are a sturdy and strong cat who love to jump, run and climb.
