Hunter Animal Rescue (HAR) is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers who dedicate their time to finding new homes for abandoned pets facing euthanasia in Council Pounds and the RSPCA from the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton and Muswellbrook. All animals are kept in foster carer homes where they experience a good quality of life and the carers get a good idea of a dog or cat’s personality and suitability for different homes.
HAR consistently rescues over 500 cats/kittens each year and finds them their forever homes and take responsibility for providing all vet work prior to adoption. We rely on adoption fees and fundraising to enable us to continue this life saving work. From orphaned kittens to pregnant Queens and senior scardy cats, HAR has a network of wonderful foster carers to take on cats with special needs.
