WHISKAS® Stage

Day/Time:

10.00am – 4.30pm Daily

The WHISKAS® Stage is your education destination to learn more about our often enigmatic cats, with talks & demonstrations from experts in the know!

Visitors discovered more about what made their kitties tick and learned how to better care for them (if they let you!) with tips on training, health, and well-being. The line-up included:

Dr Karl Kruszelnicki

Dr Karl was the man with all the answers to life’s curly questions! For the first time at our Sydney Festival, Dr Karl deep-dived into the Science of Cats with a fascinating talk titled: ‘The Top 10 Sciency Things You Didn’t Know About Your Cat.’ His enthusiasm for science was infectious and, when combined with his fascination for feline friends, it all added up to an absolute must-attend, mind-expanding talk.

CATMANTOO & Didga

World-famous festival favourites CATMANTOO (aka Robert Dollwet) and his best friend Didga returned with an all-new show packed with tricks and insights to help people teach their cats things they never thought possible. His informative talk, Teaching a Cat is Easier Than You Think captivated audiences. Plus, fans even got the chance to meet Didga after each show – if she was in the mood! Didga (sometimes) loved the attention from her adoring fans.

Dr Katrina Warren

One of Australia’s most popular veterinarians and pet experts, Dr Katrina Warren has entertained and educated millions about pet care and the positive benefits of pet ownership for over 30 years. Katrina continues to inspire and educate visitors at the Sydney Festival. Attendees gained insights with The Most Common Cat Problems Solved, addressing issues like scratching furniture and carpets, waking you up at night or early in the morning (oh no!), and litter-box troubles. Later in the day, her talk Things Cats Do and Why covered fascinating topics like drowning toys in their water bowl, shoving their butt in your face, and obsessions with bleach.

Kitty Cosplay

The WHISKAS® Stage   hosted the biggest cat dress-up competition in Sydney daily at 3.15 pm! Visitors showed off their cat-creativity by designing or hiring impressive feline-inspired costumes. Those who registered were part of the Kitty Cosplay Fashion Purrrade, with winners receiving cash prizes and goody packs to take home for their kitties. Many simply wore their favourite cat ears, whiskers, or tails to the Festival, channelling the spirit of the show and having fun dressing up with some feline flair!
