Feline fanciers are gearing up for the most purrr-fect weekend!
Cat got your tongue? Well, the cat’s out of the bag!

The Cat Lovers Festival is Australia’s favourite feline-focussed festival and pounces back to Sydney Showground on Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 August 2025!

It’s heaven for cat lovers with an array of feline-inspired entertainment, education, and inspiration with the Sydney Dog Lovers Festival running next door on the same weekend. Here’s just some of the claw-some things you can experience:

Fur-miliar Festival Favourites

  • Dr Karl Kruszelnicki – learn about the fascinating science of cats as Australia’s foremost ‘Science Guy’ takes the WHISKAS® Stage.
  • BlackHawk® Pat-A-Cat Zone – get up close and paw-sonal with an array of rare and popular cat breeds from all litters of life, with this year’s zone substantially larger.
  • WHISKAS® Kitty Corner – watch and engage with cats and kittens in big cat enclosures with experts on hand to answer your most curly cat questions.
  • Championship Cat Show – leading breeders and their fabulous felines will strut their stuff, competing for cash prizes, ribbons, and glory.
  • Kitty-Dedicated Expo – shop for your cat ’til you drop with dozens of exhibitors selling cat treats, food, toys, enclosures, towers, litter, insurance, boujee accessories, beds, and more.
  • SASH Ask-A-Vet – get answers to all your feline-focused questions in a personal (and free!) in-person session with experts from one of Australia’s leading emergency veterinary hospitals.
  • WHISKAS® Stage – the destination to discover more about our wonderful cats, what makes them tick, and how to better understand and care for them (if they let you!).
  • CATMANTOO – also known as Robert Dollwet, CATMANTOO will be giving tips on how to train your cat to use a harness and leash plus lots of other fascinating feline insights – he’s a global internet sensation, and is presenting with his skateboard riding sidekick and best friend Didga!
  • Dr Katrina Warren – hear from one of Australia’s favourite vets as she shares all her illuminating cat knowledge and expertise.
  • Adoption Zone – discover the joy of adoption, speak with rescue experts, and meet cats looking for a loving fur-ever home.
  • Breed Showcase – a much larger display of beautiful cats this year with an opportunity to see and learn more about some of the most popular and rare cat breeds in Australia.
  • Feline Face Painting – finish off a cat-tastic day and snap a selfie where kids (and adults!) can have their furr-iest dreams come true and look like their favourite feline friend! (Face-painting will be free from 10.30 until 3.30pm)
  • Treat yourself to delights from some of Sydney’s finest food trucks and do not miss the adults-only Paws & Prosecco Bar for some cheeky bubbles.
  • Enter the Door Prize in iPads in the show for a chance to win the ultimate goody pack for your favourite feline!

Cat enthusiasts that also love dogs will not have to travel far to get their fur-fix, with a limited number of Cat Lovers Festival ticket holders able to purchase HALF PRICE tickets to the Dog Lovers Festival which is running at the same time next door (albeit in its own dedicated, cat-free venue).

Please note: It’s a fact that most cats don’t like being in big noisy places for long. Those that do are a rare breed! That said, you will find a healthy cast of beautiful cats at the Show, just not hundreds and hundreds – unlike the 800-strong throng at our Dog Lovers Festival! We always put cat welfare first so your understanding here is much appreciated, as is your assistance in taking direction from the cat handlers at the Show. Thanks in advance and we can’t wait to welcome you to the Festival!
